Just A Breath Away (Noel) – Jonas Myrin (The Three Wise Men)

“‘Just A Breath Away (Noel)’ began with a phone call in the middle of summer from my friend Erik Lokkesmoe, the executive music producer behind the animated film The Three Wise Men. He asked if I would write the end title Christmas song for the movie. Of course I said yes. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year, and even though it was blazing hot summer weather in Los Angeles, the chance to write a song for a story about the very first Christmas felt incredibly meaningful.

The film itself was a real passion project for Yarrow and Carrie Cheney, the creative team behind beloved animated films like The Secret Life of Pets and Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch. They created a beautiful retelling of the journey of the wise men, following the star through the darkness with faith and hope.

That spirit really shaped the heart of the song. ‘Just A Breath Away (Noel)’ was written around the idea that even in the darkest night, hope is often closer than we think.

Hearing the song come to life with the Stockholm Symphony and then seeing it close the film was incredibly special. My hope was that the song would leave people with the same message that lives at the heart of the Christmas story: that no matter what we are facing, hope is never far away. Sometimes it’s just a breath away.”
